The Teatro Sala Fontana is located in the wonderful setting of the Bramante’s cloister of Santa Maria alla Fontana. Since 2000 it hosts Elsinor Teatro Stabile d'Innovazione, who took over the direction starting a process of renewal and artistic qualification, increasing in quality and quantity the planning and the creativity, giving the city new and interesting opportunities for entertainment and giving space to emerging talents of the Italian theatrical scene.
The quality of the proposed shows and hospitalities characterize the matinees for schools, as well as the exhibitions on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, dedicated to an audience of families. The evening performances are dedicated to the analysis of contemporary drama, to the comparison with the tradition and to new lines of interpretation of classical texts. The prestigious guests in recent years, including Lucilla Morlacchi, David Riondino, Giancarlo Cauteruccio, Giuseppe Marini, Michele Di Mauro, Lucilla Giagnoni, Leo Muscato, Ruggero Dondi, Ernesto Maieux, Franco Branciaroli, Iaia Forte, testify the vitality of a place that enriches the cultural offer in a growing area like the “Isola” district.
