The original location of Teatro Franco Parenti, on Milano’s Via Pier Lombardo, re-opened in 2008 following a complete restructuring headed by Michele De Lucchi, with the aid of artistic director Andrée Ruth Shammah and stage designer Gian Maurizio Fercioni. Technology melds with craftsmanship and the use of natural construction materials, making the theater a unique venue in Milano. Vastness and grandeur become immediately accessible to the single individual. The theater boasts 5,400+ square meters of surface area, distributed over three levels and eight different spaces, including a 500-seat hall and two 150-seat venues, which can be used simultaneously. The recently completed renovation makes use of Quartiere Vasari’s original 1933 spatial and functional design, as audiences and performances fill the entire facility, and activity within becomes intertwined, inter-related and mutually stimulating. Entertainment, work, convergence and experimentation are all at home here, where light pours in through large windows and accentuates openness to the outside world, to the city, to life.
