On the site of what was once the Italtel industrial plant, this structure, designed by Renzo Piano, exalts the concept of contemporary architecture. Its technical complexity responds to environmental demands for a balanced relationship between the man-made and nature, while glass facades transmit an image of light hovering above the stone city. The building is also noted for its exposed brickwork, faded to obtain the ochre color typically used in Milanese facades, contrasted by bright green curtains. The same bright green appears in the seating inside the elegant Auditorium, situated in the partially below ground level. Both the Auditorium and the Collina Hall host conferences, cultural events and training courses.
