This monumental and alluring medieval reconstruction was designed by Alfredo D’Andrade and Vittorio Avondo for the Italy’s 1884 Art and Industrial Expo, based on authentic castles and homes found in the regions of Piemonte and Valle d’Aosta. The result was a rousing success, and this exquisite replica of an Italian medieval castle and the surrounding village has remained an attraction ever since. Now owned by the City of Torino, in 2003 operations at this museum site were taken over by the Fondazione Torino Musei.
