This building dates to 1946 and was originally the site of a mechanical workshop and later headquarters for a shipment firm. Completely overhauled in 1997 and 1998 with the ambitious aim of creating a new venue for a wide range of events, gatherings and musical performances, Alcatraz offers some 3,000 square meters of poly-functional space. With its smooth, free-flowing design and structural flexibility, the creative possibilities here are infinite. The cultural turnover is fast and furious! A fashion show one day and a convention the next, followed by an onslaught of private parties, TV productions, formal meetings and extravagant performances. Its visible structural components, high-tech systems and conspicuous air conditioning ducts add an additional touch of allure to Alcatraz, making it a one-of-a-kind venue in Italy and Europe.
