Torino Vocalensemble
Torino Vocalensemble Founded in 2000, the Torino Vocalensemble has performed more than 80 concerts in 6 European countries in its first 8 years of existence, with a repertoire spanning more than 120 compositions, including 15 world premieres, 10 of which were commissioned by the ensemble. The choir has taken part in choral series, festivals, international seminars and has also collaborated as a laboratory choir for the Italian and European choral federations. In its “Voci e Incontri” series the choir organizes courses, seminars, and concerts with eminent choral figures. Over the years the roster has seen singers from 10 different nationalities and has also included collaborations with instrumentalists, actors, dancers and painters. The practice of choral improvisation and the interaction with other artistic forms testify the desire of the Torino Vocalensemble, and that of its director Carlo Pavese, to go beyond the traditional conception of choral concerts through constant experimentation of new forms and possibilities.
