Perfume Genius is Mike Hadreas, a singer and songwriter from Seattle that has published his first work on MySpace in 2008 under the pseudonym Perfume Genius. The group Los Campesinos! caught his attention and presented him with their record company, the Turnstile. In 2011 he publishes his striking album, Learning, that was defined by Drowned In Sound as “An album of rare beauty… one of the most touching and silently energetic albums released in the last years”. Thanks to this album Perfume Genius has become one of the most outstanding contemporary singers and songwriters. Recently he took part of SXSW, where in addition to his classics, he proposed new material. This exhibition has revealed the path Perfume Genius’ future work will take. The new album will be released in September and has already caught the attention of the media.
