Marialy Pacheco belongs to the most talented Cuban musicians of her generation. Born in Cuba (Havana, 1983) Marialy was raised in a musical family and began piano studies from an early age at the Alejandro García Caturla Conservatorium. At age 15 she attended the Escuela Nacional de Artes, followed by 3 years of composition studies under Tulio Peramo at the Instituto Superior de Artes de la Havana. Marialy has performed solo and with her trio at jazz venues and festivals throughout Europe and Australia; released 5 albums under her own name and is laureate of numerous awards for jazz performance and composition. Marialy creates a subtle balance between jazz, Cuban music traditions and her classical training.
