WALTZES
This program features one of Johann Strauss II’s most celebrated waltzes, along with the refined echo of Richard Strauss’s best-known opera. As well as a pair of waltzes by Ravel, the first of which is enveloped in all the allure of Vienna, while the second, La Valse, reaches a paroxysm that would mark the end of the genre as we know it.
