Taken from an old canovaccio and rewritten at the beginning of '900, the comedy takes place in Istanbul in the second half of the nineteenth century, in an environment that incorporates a vision of Turkey which was popular in nineteenth-century's imagination. The characters move in a simple, almost naive plot, which represents the expression of popular culture from which the puppet theater draws its origins.
