Monday the 17th of February 2014 during a conference at Palazzo Marino in Milan a new international composition contest called “Feeding Music, composition from the world for the Italian Pavilion at EXPO Milano 2015” has been announced. The competition is a project of Divertimento Ensemble, in collaboration with the City of Milano, the Region of Lombardia, MITO SettembreMusica and Sentieri selvaggi, which aims at motivating the creativity of young composers on social themes. It is opened to composers from all around the world, under the age of 40, who are asked to send their composition proposals by the 30th of May 2014. An international board of judges composed by 10 important personalities of the contemporary music world, among whom our Artistic Director Enzo Restagno, will select the contest participants, who will then be required to create a new composition based on the theme “Feeding Music, Energy for Life”. The best composition will be awarded with a prize of € 15.000. 50 different compositions, selected by the board of judges, will be performed inside the Italian Pavilion during EXPO MILANO 2015 and a further selection will become part of MITO SettembreMusica’s artistic programme in 2015, as well as part of Divertimento Ensemble and Sentieri selvaggi’s concert seasons.
