School project
MITO SettembreMusica inaugurates the MITO Educational Schools Project with the aim of involving increasing numbers of young people, along with their teachers and   families, in active listening and understanding music.
The Schools Project, created in conjunction with Lombardia Regional Office for Schools, unfolds in three main phases: listening preparation, attending a live performance, and follow-up in the classroom to conclude the experience.
The Schools Project includes a selection of quality performances featuring classical as well as ethnic music, at specially reduced ticket prices of € 5.00 per show.
Schools, youth associations and groups may participate in the initiative. The Schools Project is open to young people ages 18 and under.

MITO SettembreMusica prepares young people for concerts. How? Before each event that groups have booked, teachers receive information packets about composers, performers and orchestras. Then MITO SettembreMusica sends music experts to classes at elementary, middle and high schools to provide more intensive preparation for an active listening experience.

MITO SettembreMusica meets young people at concerts. Prior to each evening show booked by groups, young participants receive a complimentary listen guide created by our experts especially for children.

MITO SettembreMusica continues sharing music. After attending concerts, children are asked to comment on their experience through their own written essays and drawings. Teachers are provided with special tools and activities for post-concert classroom work. Students and teachers can send the results of their work to c [dot] mitopromozione [at] comune [dot] milano [dot] it or by ordinary mail to: MITO SettembreMusica – Ufficio Promozione e Biglietteria – via Dogana, 2 – Scala E – II piano – 20121 Milano.

Selected essays and drawings, or portions of them, may be published on the MITO SettembreMusica website or our other web venues.
